Our Globetrotting journey starts in my home town, Washington DC! I live just outside our wonderful capital in the Virginia suburbs. I feel so lucky to be able to take part in great museums, festivals and explore the history of our country!

Happy New Year!  To kick 2014 off properly, we are running numerous activities and offering several ways you can participate in this amazing block of the month series.  Details about our offerings are below, and then read some Globetrotting clues from Pat about the first block!

Block One

The center block is our largest block and sets the stage for our trip around the world!

Inspiration from Our Nation's Capital
I wanted to create a block inspired by history. I found this old map of DC and used it as my inspiration. Visit my blog to learn more about the creation of my first block in Globetrotting.  Here is the map:

I highly recommend that with dark/light quilts you prewash your fabric. I don't want any tears later when you wash that quilt and it runs blue onto white ..eep! The step of prewashing can be done quickly and then you are ready to rock and roll.
